One common side effect of Botox use is an annoying headache. While Botox headaches are rarely severe in nature they can nevertheless be very persistent, lasting anywhere from a few hours to a few days in length. The interesting thing is that one of the common uses of Botox is in the treatment of headaches it self.

It sounds strange doesn't it? A headache cure whose side effects may be headaches? It's the ultimate merry-go-round, you take a medication to relieve a headache the result is an other headache, so you take more of the medication. It's a marketers dream. Never the less the fact remains, the Botox headache cure is the hottest new thing around.

When botox is used to cure headaches the botox should be injected into the skin, and not the muscle as is usually the case. Very ncouraging results have been had in the treatment of migraines with Botox, it is particularly true in case where the use of other medications were less successful. A word of caution though, the use of Botox has not yet been approved by the FDA in the treatment of headaches. Therefore we recommend that you discuss this treatment option with your local doctor beforehand.

If you decide to try Botox as a cure for headache what results can you expect? Stdies have shown that about 1/3 of experienced complete relief. One third said they had only partial relief form their headaches. While the remaining third report no significant changes. There have been other studies that have reported over all improved results

If you suffer from Botox headaches as a result of using Botox to treat wrinkles, no doubt you will be more than a little surprised to hear that today Botox is used and recommended by many as an excellent cure for headaches.
